Go up the stairs. Instead of selecting the elevator, climb the stairs to your floor. This isn't as easy to do if you work on a very high floor but if you work on a lower floor, using the stairs is a superb way to get some extra exercise. Even if you do live or work on one of the upper floors, you can still get off of the elevator first and climb up the stairs the rest of the way. Most people will decide to be lazy and take an elevator instead of choosing exercise on the stairs. Even just a individual flight of stairs, when travelled up or down a few times a day--can be a great improvement to your system.
Drink water, not alternative beverages. Sipping a soda or cup of coffee from time to time won't hurt you too badly. Getting all your hydration from them is a terrible idea. When you pick out water over other beverages you are helping your body remain very healthy and hydrated. You’re also cutting hundreds of calories out of your diet— without having to deal with terrible tasting diet food. Effective weight loss efforts often depend exclusively on water ingestion.
There are lots of things you can go after to become healthy. Extensive gym visits and narrowly defined diets are not always the solution. It is the little things you choose day after day that really help you with weight loss and getting healthy. Being intelligent about the selections you make each day is a start. A good amount of physical activity each day is also necessary. The numbers on the scale aren't the only signal of your health levels. You need to make your body as strong it can be.
