Go up the stairs. Rather than using an elevator, take the stairs to the floor you live or work on. While this will be hard to do if you live on or if your job is on a seriously high level floor in a skyscraper, taking the stairs to a home or office on, say, the fifth floor is totally do-able. Even if you do live or work on one of the upper floors, you can still get off of the elevator first and climb up the stairs the rest of the way. Most people will decide to be lazy and take an elevator instead of getting exercise on the stairs. Even just a single flight of stairs, when travelled up or down a few times a day--can be a great improvement to your system.

Pick water over other drinks. Drinking a soda or cup of coffee every so often won't hurt you too badly. It is, however, a bad idea to exclusively drink soda or coffee. When you pick out water over other beverages you are helping your body remain very healthy and hydrated. Doing this helps you cut hundreds of calories out of your diet without your having to suffer through a bunch of gross diet food. Water is often one of the keys to successful weight reduction and healthfulness.

There are all sorts of things that you can do to get healthy. Not all of them require fancy gym memberships or restricted diets. It is the little things you choose on a daily basis that really help you with weight loss and becoming healthy. Being clever when you choose your food and activities is where it begins. A good amount of physical activity each day is also critical. Remember: being healthful isn’t just about losing weight. You really want your body to be powerful too.
